The F-16 Falcon, developed by General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin), is a light multi-purpose fighter aircraft. First flown in 1974 and commissioned in 1978, it adopts a single engine design and a fly by wire control system, capable of performing various tasks such as air to ground, tactical reconnaissance, and electronic countermeasures. It has a maximum speed of 2 Mach and a maximum range of over 4000 kilometers (with a secondary fuel tank). More than 4600 F-16Vs (BLOCK70/72) with enhanced avionics, radar, and weapon systems are still being produced and exported to over 25 countries worldwide.
